FieldPulse alternatives: 6 options for 2026, compared honestly

Six FieldPulse alternatives for HVAC, plumbing and electrical contractors, with published prices where they exist, contract terms and honest watch-outs.

Updated October 15, 2026 · 8 min read · 6 options compared

The short answer

FieldPulse is a capable trade-focused tool with good/better/best estimates and an AI assistant on every plan, and plenty of contractors should stay. Shops that want published prices, month-to-month terms, or fewer paid modules should compare Housecall Pro, Service Fusion and TradesWork, and check their own contract's 60-day notice window before doing anything else.

Why owners look for FieldPulse alternatives

Quote-only pricing

FieldPulse says it is seat-based and priced around what your team needs. There are no plans or dollar amounts on the pricing page; you get a custom quote through a demo.

Annual contracts with a 60-day notice window

FieldPulse's help center says all customers who signed up after November 2023 are on an annual contract. Contract customers must give 60 days' notice before the end of the annual billing period and must fulfill the whole contract; cancellation can't end it mid-term.

Core trade tools listed as add-ons

Pricebook, Custom Forms, ClearPath workflows, Fleet Tracking, Operator AI and the Engage communications product appear as optional add-ons, with no prices shown. Engage is priced by line and license.

No offline claim

FieldPulse's home and pricing pages describe the mobile app but make no claim about working without signal. If your techs work in basements, crawlspaces or rural areas, test it before you renew or sign.

How to choose

  1. 1Start with your contract. Find your FieldPulse term end and count back 60 days; that's the date that decides when you can switch.
  2. 2List the modules you actually use (price book, forms, fleet tracking, phones, AI answering) and ask every vendor for a written total that includes them.
  3. 3Decide how much you value published prices and month-to-month terms. Housecall Pro, Jobber, Service Fusion and TradesWork publish; FieldPulse, Workiz and ServiceTitan quote.
  4. 4Test offline in a basement with a real tech during any trial.
  5. 5Ask what moves over. Customers and price books usually import; job history and stored cards need a plan.

FieldPulse is one of the more trade-focused tools in the small and mid-size market. Its industry list starts with HVAC, electrical and plumbing, its estimates show good, better and best options, and it includes an AI assistant on every plan. If it's working for your shop and the price is fair, there may be no reason to move.

Contractors start looking around for a handful of reasons: quote-only pricing, modules that are sold separately, and the annual contract terms in FieldPulse's own help center. This page covers six alternatives, what each does well, and what to watch for. Prices come from each vendor's own website, checked October 15, 2026.

What FieldPulse does well

Credit where due. FieldPulse is built for trade contractors: its industry pages cover HVAC-R, electrical, plumbing, garage door, locksmith, appliance repair, commercial equipment, fire and security, septic and A/V installation (home page). It has estimates with good, better and best options, maintenance agreements, scheduling and dispatch, and QuickBooks integration.

Its AI is a real part of the pitch. Maverick, included on every plan, answers questions from your own jobs, customers and numbers, drafts estimates, builds reports and creates records. Operator AI is an AI dispatcher that answers after-hours, declined or overloaded calls and books jobs straight into FieldPulse. The pricing page also promises fast onboarding and tailored support, and says its team will help you decide which add-ons actually make sense (pricing).

FieldPulse also shows a 4.8 out of 5 rating from more than 2,500 reviews on its home page. Reviews aren't the same as fit, but it suggests many contractors are content.

Why contractors look elsewhere

You can't compare on price. There are no plans or dollar figures on the pricing page. FieldPulse says it is seat-based and priced around what your team needs. That's not unusual, but it makes side-by-side comparisons harder and means each renewal is a negotiation.

Modules add up. The pricing page lists Operator AI, ClearPath (workflow design), Custom Forms, Pricebook, Engage (communications, priced by line and license) and Fleet Tracking as products, described as optional premium add-ons, with no prices shown. For an HVAC or plumbing shop, a price book and forms aren't optional, so ask what your quote includes.

The contract. FieldPulse's cancellation policy (as published in its help center and archived in March 2026) says all customers who signed up after November 2023 are on an annual contract and that it hasn't offered subscription models since. For one-year or multi-year contracts, cancellation requires 60 days' notice before the end of the annual billing period, and you must fulfill the entire contract; cancelling can't end it mid-term. Cancellation goes by email to cancellations@fieldpulse.com with your contact name, billing email and phone number.

Offline. The site describes a mobile app for estimates and dispatch but makes no claim about what techs can do without signal. If that matters to your crews, test it.

The alternatives, one by one

TradesWork

TradesWork is built for HVAC, plumbing and electrical shops of roughly 3 to 50 techs, which overlaps heavily with FieldPulse's core. The difference is mostly in how you buy it. Prices are published and per tech or sales seat: $79, $99 or $139 a month on annual billing, or $91 to $160 month-to-month. Office staff are free. Annual billing never auto-renews at a higher price, and there's a 14-day trial with no card.

The things FieldPulse sells as modules are in the plans: the price book, forms and checklists are on every plan; good/better/best estimates and memberships come with Pro. The tech app runs on iPhone and Android, in English and Spanish, and keeps saving estimates, photos, forms and time with no signal. The AI receptionist answers after hours or when you're busy, books existing customers, and passes everyone else to your team, and owners can ask questions of their numbers in plain English. HVAC shops get a refrigerant log tied to each tech's EPA 608 number and warranty claim tracking.

The honest downsides: TradesWork is new and has far fewer shops on it than FieldPulse. There's no dedicated FieldPulse importer, so customers and the price book come across from a spreadsheet and job history stays in your FieldPulse export as an archive. Consumer financing lenders aren't connected yet, and it works with QuickBooks Online only.

Housecall Pro

Housecall Pro publishes its prices: Basic $59, Essentials $149 and Max $299 a month billed annually, for 1, 5 and 8 users, with $35 per extra user on Max (pricing). It says it doesn't require long-term contracts, and there's a 14-day trial of Max with no card. The price book is on every plan; flat-rate pricing, commissions and QuickBooks Online sync start at Essentials.

The catches are the user caps (office staff count) and the top-plan gate: recurring service plans and the Sales Proposal Tool are Max-only, and add-ons like CSR AI, Pipeline and Payroll have no listed price. Read our TradesWork vs Housecall Pro comparison for more.

Service Fusion

Service Fusion is the published, flat-price option: $208, $325 or $533 a month on annual billing, unlimited users on every plan, onboarding and support included (pricing). The pricing page says plans are month-to-month. Its subscription agreement still auto-renews for your initial term length and needs 30 days' written notice, so read both. The customer portal and e-sign are Pro features or add-ons. See Service Fusion alternatives.

Jobber

Jobber is the simplest product on this list, with every price published, from $29 a month (Core, one user, annual) to $529 (Plus, 15 users, annual), and a no-commitment monthly option (pricing). The Client Hub portal is excellent. For HVAC and plumbing, it's thinner than FieldPulse: plan lists don't include memberships with visit tracking or equipment records.

Workiz

Workiz is FieldPulse's closest match on trades and on buying model: quote-only, with phone and AI answering add-ons (pricing). It's strongest for fast-turn work and subcontractors. Service plans, flat rate and proposals are on the top Ultimate plan, and its terms set a 12-month term that auto-renews. If contracts are your complaint, it won't solve it. See Workiz alternatives.

ServiceTitan

ServiceTitan is the step up for 25+ tech shops with a full office: the broadest feature set, quoted per technician, no self-serve trial, and contract terms set in your agreement (pricing). Moving from FieldPulse to ServiceTitan usually means more capability and more cost, plus a longer implementation.

On sticker price, a small crew will usually pay less on Housecall Pro, Jobber or Service Fusion than on TradesWork. Say a 6-tech shop picks TradesWork Pro: 6 × $99 = $594 a month on annual billing. Compare that with your FieldPulse quote plus the modules you use, and with the published plans above, as a 12-month total.

What switching involves

  1. Find your FieldPulse contract end date and the 60-day notice deadline.
  2. Export customers, jobs, invoices and your price book while you have full access.
  3. Trial alternatives with real techs and set up your pick.
  4. Run one crew on the new system while FieldPulse stays live, then move the office and the rest.
  5. Email cancellations@fieldpulse.com before the deadline with the details its help center asks for, and keep the confirmation.

Stored cards usually don't move between processors, so plan to ask customers on recurring billing to re-enter a card in the new system. The field service software scorecard helps you compare your shortlist on what matters.
