Terms of service

The agreement between TradesWork and the businesses that use it.

Last updated October 17, 2026

Draft. These terms are awaiting final review and may change before they take effect.

In short

  • Your business owns its data. Cancelling never deletes it, and you can delete your account whenever you choose.
  • The trial is 14 days with no card. After that you pay the published per-technician price, month-to-month or annually.
  • Month-to-month plans can be cancelled at any time. Annual plans never renew at a higher price without telling you first.
  • Use TradesWork lawfully: get your customers' consent before texting or recording them.

The agreement

These terms apply to the business ("you") that creates a TradesWork account, and to everyone that business invites. By creating an account or using TradesWork, you agree to them on behalf of your business. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

Accounts and your team

The person who signs up is the account owner. Owners and admins decide who joins, what each person can see and do, and when access ends. You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping sign-in links and codes private. Tell us at once if you think your account has been misused.

Free trial

A new account gets a 14-day trial of the AI plan with no card required. Some connected services (for example card payments or a texting number) need your own account with that provider even during the trial. If you don't choose a plan when the trial ends, the account becomes read-only until you do; your data isn't deleted.

Plans and billing

Plans are priced per active technician per month, as published on our pricing page. Office staff and view-only users are free. You can pay month-to-month or annually. Charges are billed in advance through our payment processor; usage-based items, such as phone minutes, texts and AI receptionist minutes, are billed as described in your settings. Prices for an annual term don't change during that term. We'll give at least 30 days' notice of any price change for month-to-month plans.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from Settings. Month-to-month plans end at the close of the current billing month. Annual plans run to the end of the paid term and aren't refunded for the unused part unless the law requires it. Cancelling doesn't delete your data: the account becomes read-only, so you can still sign in and see it, until you delete the account.

Your data

Everything your business puts into TradesWork (customers, jobs, prices, photos, notes, invoices) belongs to your business. We use it only to provide and support the service, as described in our privacy policy. We don't sell it and don't use it for advertising. You're responsible for having the right to put your customers' and staff's information into TradesWork, and for honoring their requests about it.

Acceptable use

Don't use TradesWork to break the law or anyone's rights. In particular, get the consent the law requires before you text, call or record customers, follow the texting registration rules your carrier requires, and don't send spam. Don't try to break into the service, overload it, or reverse-engineer it, and don't resell it without our written agreement.

Connected services

TradesWork connects to services you choose, such as Stripe for card payments, Twilio for phone and texting, QuickBooks Online for accounting, and Anthropic for AI features you turn on. Those services have their own terms, which apply to your use of them. Importing from another field service system uses files you export yourself from that system; you're responsible for following that system's terms.

AI features

AI features are optional and off until you turn them on. They make suggestions and drafts, such as invoice lines, replies and job summaries. Review them before you rely on them; anything that reaches a customer waits for a person's approval where the product says so.

Availability and changes

We work to keep TradesWork available and your data safe, but we can't promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or improve features; if we remove something you rely on, we'll tell you ahead of time.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, TradesWork isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost business, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using TradesWork at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or doesn't pay, after notice where we reasonably can.
